What kind of personal data
do we acquire?
Types of personal data Money Forward acquires
Information such as names and email addresses
When our users use Money Forward services, participate in Money Forward events, or inquire about services, we acquire information about users’ attributes such as their name, email address, postal address, telephone number, sex, and occupation.
In addition, if users use Money Forward Career, we acquire information such as the history of their professional duties and diagnostic results of their assessments.
Account information for financial institutions and usage information for finance-related services, such as credit card usage history
We acquire usage information for finance-related services (1) from the household accounting app Money Forward ME.

We acquire tokens issued by financial institutions to link with financial institutions in order to acquire usage information for finance-related services. Some finance-related services may also store login IDs and passwords (2).
(2) We do not store information concerned in transactions such as PINs for transactions.
Voice data and image/video data
If users cooperate in a user interview or survey, we may acquire voice data or video data recording the circumstances of the interview, in addition to responses to the interview or survey.
We may acquire voice data recording an inquiry when inquiries are made by telephone.
We may acquire receipt images to read information necessary for household accounting from these images, such as dates, items, amounts, and store names.
Information such as access information and Internet activity history
We acquire information such as access logs to Money Forward services using tools including cookies, Advertising Identifiers (IDFAs) provided by Apple, and Advertising IDs (AAIDs) provided by Google. This information includes viewed webpages, information about usage environments, and information automatically received from browsers or apps about users’ activity history on advertisement pages and websites related to Money Forward services and cookies.
This information is handled as personal data even if it stands alone and does not include personally identifiable information.
Cases and manner of acquiring personal data
User-provided data through use of Money Forward services
We acquire personal data provided by users when they agree to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy (Handling of Personal Information) to use each service.
We acquire personal data when users fill out or respond to input forms such as inquiries and surveys.
Acquiring personal data through use of cookie technology when users use Money Forward services or view our advertisements
We acquire information such as user access logs using cookie technology when users use Money Forward services or view Money Forward advertisements.
Acquiring our users’ personal data from third parties
In accordance with the consent of our users, we acquire personal data by receiving finance-related service usage information provided by financial institutions and usage history information provided by our business partners (such as financial planning companies, employment agencies, and real estate service companies) for each partner‘s services.
We acquire email addresses and other ID registration information provided by businesses offering external services when users log in to Money Forward services using IDs for external services, such as Google.
We acquire personal data from businesses providing cookie technology, such as Google, and advertising distribution businesses that use Money Forward by receiving information such as our users’ access logs collected by those businesses.
Businesses providing cookie technology for Money Forward services, such as Google, may collect personal data directly. This personal data is managed according to the policies determined by each business, in accordance with our users’ consent to each business.
