Purposes of Personal Data Use

Purposes of Personal Data Use and Key Examples

To Provide Users with Optimal Services

The Money Forward Group uses user data for service delivery, operations, and customer support.

For example, “Money Forward ME,” our personal finance and asset management app, automatically generates a household account book based on account information from financial institutions and credit card usage history linked by users. It also aggregates asset information from multiple accounts into one place, allowing users to see asset trends and their entire portfolio at a glance.

"Money Forward Fixed Cost Review" proposes optimal services such as electricity, insurance, and communication expenses.

"Money Forward Personal Financial Consulting" enables our users to consult with financial planners using information linked to "Money Forward ME."

“Money Forward Career” uses the data to provide career consulting and introduce hiring companies to our users.

We also use registered user information and usage history of Money Forward Group services to respond appropriately to inquiries from our users regarding each service.

In principle, when we use data that can identify specific individuals, we clearly disclose the purpose of use to our users in advance and handle the data in accordance with that purpose. When our users entrust us with handling personal data, we handle such data appropriately in accordance with the intent of the entrustment.

To Provide Users with New Services and Features

We use the data not only to improve current Money Forward Group services, but also to plan new services and develop new features.

Joint Use by the Money Forward Group

We jointly use our users' personal information and personal data among domestic Money Forward Group companies for the purposes publicly stated regarding our handling of personal information.

To Create and Use Non-Identifiable Statistical Data by Aggregating and Processing Personal Data

We aggregate our users' personal data so that specific individuals cannot be identified, and use the data to provide value to our users and solve social challenges. This aggregated data (statistical data) represents our users’ trends and distributions as numerical values, and does not contain personally identifiable information, such as names, addresses, or email addresses.

For example, we may publish statistical data based on the results of surveys on consumer behavior conducted by the Money Forward Group, or use it for joint research with external organizations.

We may also provide statistical data to Money Forward Group client companies for purposes such as enabling effective marketing.
For details on our policies regarding statistical data, please refer to the "Statistical Data" page.
