Guidelines for Handling Statistical Data
We may use statistically processed data or provide such data to third parties (including academic research institutions and public agencies) to provide value to our users or solve social challenges. When providing data, we will employ appropriate methods based on the nature of the data and the form of provision (such as confirming in advance that the recipient can handle the data appropriately, or restricting the recipient's use of the data through contracts).
Definition of Statistical Data
"Statistical data" refers to data that has been aggregated and analyzed so that specific individuals or corporations cannot be identified.
For example, it represents our users’ trends and distributions as numerical values, and does not contain personally identifiable information, such as names, addresses, or email addresses. In addition, where statistical aggregation is insufficient, such as when aggregated counts are too low, we exclude such values.
The Money Forward Group has established guidelines for the creation and handling of such "statistical data," and operates with the protection of our users' privacy as our top priority.
Examples of Statistical Data Provision
Provision to Public Institutions and for Academic Research
We may provide statistical data to public institutions conducting statistical analysis for public benefit and to institutions pursuing academic research. This data is used for the creation of white papers and statistical reports by public institutions, or for joint research and academic studies.
For example, we have implemented the following initiatives:
・Published a research paper on the impact of the Special Cash Payments on household consumption.
・Collaborated on research with the Bank of Japan
・Entrusted with a part of the Cabinet Office's FY2024 project: "Economic Trend Analysis Utilizing Big Data (Using Corporate Financial Data, etc.)"
Provision to Client Companies
We may also provide statistical data to Money Forward Group client companies for purposes such as enabling effective marketing activities.
Provision to Advertising Distribution Partners
We may provide statistical data to advertising distribution partners to deliver more relevant advertisements to our users.
