Yosuke Tsuji

After graduating from the Faculty of Agriculture (BS), Kyoto University, Yosuke Tsuji obtained his MBA at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. He worked at Sony Corporation and Monex, Inc. before establishing Money Forward, Inc. in 2012. Currently serves as the Vice Chairperson of the Japan Association of Corporate Executives (Keizai Doyukai) and Chairperson of its Startup Promotion General Committee, Executive Committee member of the Silicon Valley Japan Platform (SVJP), and Executive Officer of the Japan Association of New Economy.

Countless things are more important in life than money—time spent relaxing with family and friends or indulging in one’s hobbies, or the joy of being appreciated through one’s work, to name just a few.
It is also true, however, that life is difficult without money. Many people probably wish to swiftly acquire accurate financial knowledge and move on to a better life without being troubled by money—which in itself is nothing more than a tool for living.
As an undergraduate, I launched a university preparatory school with some of my seniors and experienced the excitement of starting up a business. After graduating, I joined Sony Corporation where I learned the basics of business. Being attracted to Monex, Inc.’ vision “to create the best financial institution for individuals,” I was seconded by Sony to Monex, to where I was subsequently transferred. Back then, Monex was a venture business with some 50 employees, and I learned a great many things amidst the energetic corporate culture of entrepreneurship.
Owing to the emergence of online banks and online securities, individual investors can now access previously inaccessible high quality trading tools, a range of real-time information, and global financial instruments—previously only available to institutional investors—all for a remarkably low fee. Nonetheless, people still severely lack financial knowledge.

I have immersed myself in the world of Internet and money for almost 10 years now, and I trust that by using the Internet effectively, we can reduce people’s anxiety and time spent fretting over money, allowing them to shift more time to other more meaningful things in life. While each individual’s capability may be limited, by aggregating such capabilities and knowledge on social platforms, I believe we can design exceptional financial services that would enrich people’s lives.
Nothing would make happier than if Money Forward could help reduce users’ concerns and issues regarding money, and enable them to spend more genuinely happy and fulfilling moments.
Although our services may still be small in scale, we would truly appreciate your continued support and counsel. In closing, thank you for taking the time to read my message.
