With this new service, users can now let AI analyze the required documents and prepare the filing content. This will provide a new user experience in which users can complete their tax returns simply by checking the filing content and submitting the documents.*

*Creation and submission of tax return documents requires the use of e-Tax or Money Forward Cloud Tax Return.

“Money Forward AI Tax Return” is a service based on the concept of “A new tax return experience powered by AI.” AI dramatically streamlines the traditional tax return process by taking on a large portion of the tax return work on behalf of the user. Now, even beginners and users not confident in their accounting knowledge can complete their tax returns easily and effortlessly, significantly reducing psychological burden and work time.

“Money Forward AI Tax Return” is an AI-native tax return service for those who want to complete their tax returns with as little hassle as possible. AI analyzes accumulated receipts and prepares the filing content on the user’s behalf. 1. Our first AI-native product
We designed the product concept and user experience around the idea of maximizing the use of AI, rather than incorporating AI as a feature in a conventional cloud service.

2. AI-OCR reads the documents and generative AI creates filing content
Simply upload receipts, and AI-OCR reads them. Generative AI then automatically creates the tax return data based on the results. Users can complete their tax returns simply by checking the content and submitting the documents.*

3. Provides peace of mind by clearly stating the reasoning behind AI-based decisions
Categories such as “Entertainment Expenses” or “Transportation Expenses” are displayed for each transaction along with the reasoning for user confirmation. This allows users with concerns about their accounting knowledge to understand the logic behind the categorization and proceed with tax return preparation confidently.

We are offering some features of the service (Beta version) for free as a trial. In the future, we will gradually roll out features such as support for withholding tax statements, insurance and medical expense deduction documents, and integration with financial services.

We have supported tax return processing by providing “Money Forward Cloud Tax Return,” and have contributed to creating an environment in which sole proprietors can focus on their core business. This new service provides a completely new experience for beginners and those without accounting knowledge —users to whom conventional products were unable to deliver value— making the traditionally complex tax return process dramatically easier to complete with AI. Moving forward, users will be able to choose between “Money Forward Cloud Tax Return” and “Money Forward AI Tax Return,” according to their accounting knowledge, business size, life stage, etc.
