Since its foundation, the Money Forward Group has been supporting the digital transformation (DX) of corporate, individual, and financial institution customers to achieve the mission “Money Forward. Move your life forward.” Going forward, we will accelerate the utilization of rapidly evolving AI and contribute to greater operational efficiency and sustainable growth for our client companies through Money Forward Cloud.

Reasons for Our AI Initiatives

In Japan, the working-age population is declining due to the aging population, and the shortage of human resources is becoming particularly serious in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and mid-sized companies. Furthermore, this issue is expected to accelerate in the future.
Money Forward has been supporting operational efficiency through SaaS services, but from now on, we will leverage AI to provide “digital workers” with advanced autonomy and task execution capabilities. By doing so, we aim to support the creation of an environment that enables even businesses with a small number of employees to focus on their core operations, thereby helping to enrich the businesses of our corporate users.

Money Forward’s AI Strategy

In April 2025, Money Forward announced three initiatives: “AI Agent,” “AI Agent Platform,” and “AX Consulting.”
To achieve “beyond operational efficiency,” we will not only implement AI features in existing services but also take on the challenge of providing new services utilizing AI.

AI Agents are autonomous software programs that observe the environment, make decisions, and execute actions to achieve specific tasks or objectives. We will integrate AI Agents for all products in our back-office SaaS “Money Forward Cloud” to support the automation and autonomy of operations.

We believe these initiatives can be realized thanks to our unique strengths: a large user base, an extensive product lineup, abundant data, direct feedback from users, active adoption of cutting-edge technology, and a global development team. We will continue to advance our development by leveraging these unique strengths, which cannot be built overnight and are cultivated exclusively by Money Forward, including our development environment and a culture that embraces failure and keeps moving forward.

Enhancing Data Security and Governance in AI Development

1. Establishment of the Data Analytics Governance Committee and a data governance system

To strengthen our data governance system for AI development, we have established the Data Analytics Governance Committee composed of CTO and CxOs. Led by this committee, we will strive to enhance defensive governance to support the utilization of data and the latest technologies such as AI, and will continue to engage in discussions with a wide range of expert perspectives, including those of our company executives.
The Money Forward Group will continue to strengthen its data security and governance system to provide safe and secure AI utilization services.

2. Formulation and strict adherence to “Generative AI Usage Guidelines” for all Money Forward Group employees

To ensure the safe and appropriate use of AI, we have established the “Generative AI Usage Guidelines” that provide clear guidelines for all employees of the Money Forward Group. We are rigorously enforcing compliance, including conducting training on AI-related risks for the entire group. This aims to ensure the proper handling of personal information, reduce the risk of information leakage, prevent copyright infringement, and suppress inappropriate use of Generative AI.
